Olean Hauck - Class of 1929

Services will be at a later date for David Olean Hauck, 91, of Holtville, who died March 25, 2002 in El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Burial will be under private family disposition.

Mr. Hauck was born Nov. 3, 1910, in Montpelier, Idaho.

He attended schools in Montpelier. He also attended the University of Idaho and the University of Utah, where he was active in football and wrestling.

He married Maurine Moser in Santa Cruz on May 9, 1933. The Haucks lived in Watsonville and then moved to the Imperial Valley in 1935, settling in Holtville.

Mr. Hauck worked in the fruit and produce business and also as a carpenter for many years. He later worked as a building inspector for Imperial County.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, according to family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurine M. Hauck, on March 30, 1994.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Ann Hauck of Pollock Pines; daughter and son-in-law, Paula Lynn and El Engling of Squim, Wash.; grandsons, Forrest C. Hauck of Brawley and John S. Hauck of Placerville; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Forrest and Lois Hauck of Renton, Wash., and Eldon and Peggy Hauck of Anaheim.
