Irvin Burgoyne - Class of 1925

Irvin (Bill) Cederlund Burgoyne, 88, died May 14, 1996, at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He was born September 4, 1907 in Montpelier, Idaho, to Edward Lorenzo and Binnie Cederlund Burgoyne. Married Lila Peters June 11, 1934 at Livingston, Montana; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Member of the LDS Church, High Priest in the Farmington 2nd Ward. Served in numerous ward and stake positions and served as an officiator and sealer in the Ogden LDS Temple. Graduated form Utah State University in 1930, with a degree in Business Administration. Pursued graduate studies at Utah State University, University of Idaho, University of Utah, and the University of Ohio, where he received a certificate in Systems Engineering. Held supervisory positions for about 40 years in both government, and the private sector. Retired form Hill Field in 1972, where he was chief of the Scientific and Engineering Systems section.He is survived by his wife, Lila, Farmington; six children, Ann (James) Hansen, Farmington; Julia (Robb) Russon, Providence; Carol Jackson, Bountiful; Sandra (Christopher) Rickett, West Valley City; Marcia (William M.) Bailey, Murray; Stephen (Gayle) Burgoyne, Salt Lake City; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Farmington South Stake Center, 695 South 2nd East, Farmington, Utah. Friends may call Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, and Saturday morning, 11-12:45 p.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Farmington City Cemetery.
