Warren Wilcox - Class of 1935

John Warren Wilcox, 58, Huntington Park, California, died Saturday, April, 1975 in Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of a heart attack.  He was born January 31, 1917 at Montpelier to Arthur Henry and Adelia Mortensen Wilcox.  While attending a special training school in Florida in the service he met Thelma Rudd and a year later they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 10, 1943.  A 1935 graduate of Montpelier High School, he served in the Asiatic Theatre with the US Marines four years in World War II.  Before moving to Huntington Park in 1956 he worked as a brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad for six years, as a power shovel operator for the San Francisco Chemical Company in Montpelier canyon and at Leefe mine at Sage, Wyoming and operated a Conoco Service station in Montpelier.  He worked as a carpenter until his death.  He was a high priest in the LDS Church, served as a scoutmaster, ward clerk, a counselor under four bishops and as a bishop six years in the Huntington Park Ward.  Survivors include his widow, a son, two daughters and 10 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier Stake Center.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
