David Kennington - Class of 1975

David Lloyd Kennington, 40, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital after a short bout with asthma and pneumonia.  He was born November 14, 1956 in Logan to Lloyd and Naomi Lidberg Kennington.  The family moved to Paris when David was two years old.  He went to school in Paris through the eighth grade.  After graduation from Bear Lake High School in 1975 he attended Utah State taking classes in the care of children with handicaps.  David was called to the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission but was transferred to Arizona due to problems with asthma.  After returning from his mission he finished school in Logan and became a member of Sigma Gamma Chi the LDS fraternity.  He also enjoyed institute classes.  Upon his graduation he returned to Montpelier to teach a specialization class for one year.  The following year he went to work at the hospital in American Fork caring for children with handicaps.  He always liked to work on cars so he attended a trade school and took mechanic classes.  He got good jobs in a garage in Salt Lake City.  He was injured in an industrial accident and was recovering from that injury. He currently was teaching electronics at South Jordan High School.  David married Brenda Leanie June 20, 1980 and they had three children.  They were later divorced.  He married Kathy Lorraine Davila March 17, 1995 in Paris and the marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.  David enjoyed hunting, Indian beadwork, camping and being outdoors.  He taught the 10-11 year olds in Primary.  He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.  Funeral services were held in the Paris Stake Center.  Burial was in the Paris Cemetery.
