Russell Skinner - Class of 1981

Russell LaMar Skinner passed away peacefully at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center March 13, 1997.  Russell was born in Montpelier October 23, 1962 and grew up in Nounan.  He attended schools in Bear Lake County graduating from Bear Lake High School in 1981.  He served an LDS mission to the Dallas, Texas mission from 1981 to 1983.  He then attended the BYU College of Nursing serving as the president of the Student Nursing Association.  He graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing.  Russell married Cheryl Humphreys in the Salt Lake Temple September 17, 1986.  He greatly loved nursing and the satisfaction he felt from helping others.  He was employed by the Intermountain Health Care as an RN in several nursing positions until his health prevented him from doing so.  He had a great love of music, reading and his children.  He enjoyed being with his friends and family and had a keen sense of humor.  He loved life and fought courageously against asthma.  He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.  Funeral services were held in Lakeside, Utah 4th Ward and burial was in the Provo City Cemetery.
