Spencer Hawkins

In loving memory of Spencer James Hawkins, age 85, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Spencer was born in Etna, Wyoming May 10, 1929 in the lovely Star Valley on his families homestead. He worked most of his early years with his father as a cheese maker.

His Family moved to Lake Town where he married Jean Stock (Fish Haven) on June 3, 1952 in the Logan LDS temple. He served a Alabama South LDS mission. He served in the Army from October 9, 1951 to September 1953. He attended BYU, became a school teacher in Montpelier where he taught Drivers Education and Math.

Spencer and his family moved to Ogden where Spencer worked as a Computer Programmer at Hill Air
force base. In the 1971 Spencer and his family moved to Salt Lake City to work in the RV manufacturing business. Later he owned his own R.V and pool table business.

Spencer served his second mission in Florida with his wife Jean in 2001.

Spencer loved his family and friends, Bear Lake, sailing, waterskiing, HAM Radio, picking raspberries, and square dancing with his wife. He enjoyed making breakfast and Dutch oven for everyone who came to visit in Bear Lake. His passion was his RC planes and flying them. Spencer loved flying so much that he received his pilot’s learner’s permit.

Spencer is survived by his sweet wife Jean Stock Hawkins (Holladay), James Hawkins (Garden City), Dee Hawkins    (Holladay), John (Nancy) Hawkins (Fish Haven), Krista (Joe) Snow and this brother Darrel (Susan) Hawkins.

Spencer is preceded in death by his children Michael, Patricia, Kim, grandson, Travis Hawkins, and parents Lee and Arvella Hawkins, and parents in-laws Glen and Louise Stock.

Come to celebrate his life with services on Friday, March 27. His viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Holladay 18th Ward (2625 East Milo Way, Holladay, Utah).

Services will start at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following family and close friends are invited to join us for a luncheon.

A viewing will also be held at the Saint Charles Ward in on Saturday March 28.

The viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Charles Ward fallowed by grave side services and internment at 2:30 p.m. A meal will be provide at the St. Charles Ward following interment.
