Chase “Bubba” Kenneth Jacobson, 25, passed away in his home on Sept. 29, 2012, due to complications from a brain tumor.
Chase was born on May 26, 1987, in Montpelier to Rod and Peggy Jacobson. Chase always had a loving heart and cared so much for those around him. He found his soul mate in Hailey and they gave each other everything they had and loved completely with the time they had together. She helped him fight through the toughest time of his life when he underwent brain surgery in June 2010. Chase had a special relationship with his parents, who sacrifice everything for their children. They supported and loved him when no one else was there for him. Each one of his nieces and nephews loved him so much and he loved playing with them. Known as the “baby whisperer,” he was usually seen holding, bouncing, rocking or playing with a baby. Chase was always willing to help anyone out, giving of himself whenever he could. He loved everyone in his family and loved spending time with them.
Chase worked hard at everything he did, He was accepted into and graduated from Northwest Lineman College in Meridian, Idaho. He was versatile in his abilities and jobs, working as a lineman, concrete finisher, sprinkler installer, oil rig worker, heavy machinery operator, homebuilder, tile and stone installer and much more. He was a perfectionist when installing tile or stone and created amazing designs for those jobs.
He had a craving for adventure and everyone knew it. He was always the one looking for the highest ski jump, the steepest mountain to climb on his snowmobile, the newest trick to do on a wakeboard and the fastest trail he could find to ride his dirt bike on. He loved floating down the river catching fish or hunting in the woods. He played baseball in high school and was a very talented pitcher. Nobody threw a knuckle curve like he did and he was the winning pitcher in the state championship game of 2006 his senior year.
Chase is survived by the love of his life, Hailey, his parents, Rod and Peggy Jacobson, sister Kammi (Mark) Johnson of Afton, brothers Flint (Amber) Jacobson of Magna and Lance (Chemene) Jacobson of Midvale, grandmother, Carol Williams, eight nephews, two nieces and countless uncles, aunts and cousins, all of whom miss him so much.
Chase was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Patsy Jacobson and his grandpa, Glen Williams. Funeral services will be held Oct. 3, at noon in the Montpelier third and fifth wards chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from6 to 8 pm at Matthews Mortuary and on Wednesday morning from 10 until 11:45 am. Burial will take place after the service in the Bloomington cemetery.
