Kacey Crane - Class of 1994

Kacey James Crane, 35, of Grace passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 as result of an airplane accident.

Kacey was born March 29, 1976, the fifth son of Timothy William and Marilyn Garrett Crane, in Montpelier.

He grew up in Bennington, and attended school in Georgetown, Montpelier and Logan.  He married Cari Lyn Painter on July 12, 2002 in Grace.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Utah Temple on April 23, 2011.  Kacey and Cari lived in Hyde Park, Smithfield and Trenton, Utah and for the past three years in Grace.

He was a dedicated husband and father and loved nothing more than being with his wife and little boys.  From the time Kacey was able to work, he has always loved to operate heavy equipment, especially CAT machinery.  He was employed by A+ Contractors in Soda Springs.  He loved the outdoors and especially being in the mountains.  He often hunted with his brothers and dad.  Kacey was a hard worker and was always more than willing to help someone in need.  He was generous, loving, outgoing, happy and known for his practical jokes.  He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving as Elders Quorum secretary.

Kacey is survived by his wife Cari of Grace;  three sons, Bridger, Landry  and Cohen Andersen; parents Tim and Marilyn Crane of Bennington;  brothers Shane (Missy), Lance (Misty), Brett, Bryce (Laurie), and sisters Julie (Roman) Grigg, Tami (Trevor) Jeppsen and Kelli (Quincy) Rich and many more extended family.  He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend.  He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 23, at noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center.  The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Saturdaymorning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services.  Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
