Leslie Ann Wigington (Blauer) - Class of 1979

Leslie Ann Blauer, of Declo, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.She was born January 30, 1961, in Montpelier, Idaho, the daughter of Dean Richard and Claudia Ruth Lewis Wigington. She received her education in Montpelier, graduating from Bear Lake High School. She continued her education at Rick’s College in Rexburg, where she met her husband, Michael Ray Blauer. 

They were married on June 5, 1980, in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

Following marriage, they moved to Declo, where they are engaged in farming. Leslie operated a preschool for many years, and tended many children in her home. She most recently had worked in the school lunch program at Declo. 

As a member of the LDS Church, she served faithfully in many callings; her most recent calling was working with the children in the Primary. She also enjoyed working as a stake missionary with her husband. Leslie had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a great love for the Savior. 

She was always willing to help others, no matter what it cost her. Her home was always a special and inviting place for whoever came. She enjoyed making others happy. Her family loved her very much, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Blauer of Declo; her children, Jackie (Eric) Schlerf of Rexburg, Jacob and Ryan Blauer of Declo; her parents, Dean and Claudia Wigington of Montpelier; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Merle Blauer of Burley; and three brothers, Michael (Sheryl) Wigington of Hales Corner, Wisconsin, Kelly (Jan) Wigington of Providence, Utah, and Brent (Laura) Wigington of American Fork, Utah. 

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002, at the View First and Second Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 550 South 500 East, Burley, with Bishop Ray Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the View Cemetery. Friends may call at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, Burley, on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
