Earl Hansen - Class of 1972

Earl D. Hansen, 51, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his home. He was born April 29, 1954 in Montpelier, ID to Russell S. and Lila J. Sharp Hansen. He married Dianna Turpin on May 17, 1974 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Earl was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1976. He loved woodworking, sports and outdoor events, and his corvette. He will be greatly missed by his friends and neighbors for his kind deeds. 

A big man with a big heart. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Home Teacher, Ward Clerk, High Priest Group Leader and Scout Leader. He was also a volunteer during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Earl was Lead Specialist for hazardous and ammo in the packaging management section at Hill Air Force Base. 

Surviving are his wife; Dianna Hansen; children, Shannon (Shane) Hall, Clearfield; Stephanie (Josh) Catron, Mississippi; Stacey Hansen, Plain City; and nine grandsons. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Wendell (Linda) Hansen, Layton; Donna (Don) Pugmire, Clearfield; and Thaine (Chelane) Hansen, Roy. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plain City 3rd Ward Chapel, 4630 West 2150 North. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., andon Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Garden City Cemetery.
