Ross Leroy Murphy, son of George David and Edith Rosamond Langford Murphy of Alton, died at his home in Emmett, Idaho Tuesday, May 1940 following a two month's illness with streptococcic poisoning.  He was born May 2, 1903 in Pegram, Idaho and lived there and in Montpelier all of his life.  He was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1919, however he did not graduate.  He married Eliza Agnes Wilson September 22, 1924 in Tremonton, Utah.  He is survived by his widow and two children.  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier LDS Second Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
