Ernest Hackbarth - Class of 1925

Ernest G. Hackbarth, 45, former Montpelier resident and his wife Bonnie Lou Garner Hackbarth, 29, of Pocatello were killed Saturday, July, 1953 in a head-on automobile collision south of Blackfoot. Their son, Phillip, who will be two years old in October suffered a broken right leg. Mr. Hackbarth was born May 20, 1906 in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The family moved to Montpelier where he attended school and lived until manhood. He was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1925, however he did not graduate. He is survived by his son along with brothers and sisters. A double funeral service was held in the Rexburg LDS Tabernacle with burial in the Sugar City Cemetery.
