Rulon Lindsay - Class of 1922

Dr. Rulon Beach Lindsay, 61, died Thursday, September, 1964 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of natural causes.  The son of Sarah Beach and Edgar Monroe Lindsay he was born June 5, 1903 at Nounan where he attended elementary school.  He graduated from Montpelier High School, took pre medics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and was awarded his medical degree at Northwestern University in 1931.  His internship was at the Dee Hospital in Ogden.  He practiced at Cokeville from 1933 to 1936 when he moved to Montpelier.  He and Dr. Reed J. Rich established the Bear Lake Hospital which opened March 21, 1950  At the University of Utah he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and at Northwestern belonged to Phi Chi and Epsilon Phi Alpha honorary.  He was a member and officer in the Bear River Medical society and served as chief of staff of the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.  He was a member and past president of the Montpelier Rotary Club and was a member of the LDS Church.  Dr. Lindsay and Verma A. Nelson were married December 17, 1927.  Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters and eight grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held in the Montpelier Third-Fifth Ward Chapel.
