Marjean Barrett (Michaelson) - Class of 1936

Laura Marjean Barrett Michaelson, 54, wife of J. Preston Michaelson died Saturday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital of a kidney ailment.  Mrs. Michaelson was born on June 30, 1918 to the late John W. and Bernice Dewey Barrett in Logan.  She received her early education in Montpelier schools and after graduation from high school attended the University of Idaho and the University of Utah where she was affiliated with Delta Delta sorority.  She was a talented artist at the piano participating in many concerts and musical presentations and gave freely of her talents.  She taught piano lessons in Montpelier for many years with the exception of a year the family spent in Pocatello.  She was a member of the LDS Church having recently worked in the MIA and Relief Society as organist until being released because of her illness.  She married J. Preston Michaelson on March 8, 1941 in Montpelier.  Survivors include her husband and two daughters.  Services were held in the Montpelier LDS Stake Center.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
