Elaine Bacon (Bourne) - Class of 1928

Elaine Bacon Bourne, 71, Blackfoot, died Tuesday, October 20 at Bingham Memorial of a lingering illness.  She was born November 27, 1909 in Georgetown to Albert and Charlotte Elnora Smit Bacon.  She attended schools in Georgetown, Montpelier and later in Salt Lake City, Utah where she became a registered nurse.  On November 15, 1931 she married Welker Norman Bourne in Georgetown.  This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on March 23, 1939.  She was a member of the Senior Citizens, the Idaho State and American Nursing Association.  Mrs. Bourne was a member of the LDS Church.  She served as a visiting teacher.  She enjoyed camping, bowling, gardening and handiwork.  Survivors include her husband, two sons, a daughter and seven grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Blackfoot 11th Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery.
