Artel Stephens Beecher, 86, died August 11, 1985 in Paramount, California of causes incident to age.  Born June 14, 1899 in Bennington, Idaho to William and Janet Perkins Stephens.  Married Paul Edwin Beecher September 2, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He died June 29, 1979.  For many years she taught the fifth grade at William Penn Elementary School in the Granite School District.  After retiring she and her husband lived in the Greystone Apartments.  Shortly before her husband's death she moved to Huntington Beach, California to be with her son.  Active in the LDS Church working all her life particularly in music.  She played the piano and organ for most of the services she attended from the time she was 16 years old until her death.  She was a member of the Huntington Beach 7th Ward.  Survivors include a son and three grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at Larkin Sunset Lawn.  Interment was in Larkin Sunset Lawn.
