Ruth Bernice Messerly, 71, died Sunday, April 26, 1987 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.  She was born September 22, 1915 in Nounan to Nels and Kathrine Jensen Nelson.  She married Edwin Robert Messerly December 26, 1934 in Montpelier.  The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Messerly died August 26, 1968.  She was an active member of the LDS Church.  She served in the Primary  presidency for many years and was a Relief Society visiting teacher and supervisor.  She was a cook for the Bear Lake School District Hot Lunch Program for many years.  She enjoyed handiwork.  She is survived by three sons and ten grandchildren.  Funeral services were held April 29 in the Montpelier Fifth Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
