Maxine Koford (Paterno) - Class of 1947

Maxine H. Paterno, age 69, died Sunday, February 15, 1998 in the South Lincoln Medical Center.  Maxine was born to Samuel W. and Helen Ostrander Reid January 19, 1929 in Valley County Cascade, Idaho, the third child in the family.  Her parents resided at Smith's Ferry, Idaho at the time of her birth.  Shortly thereafter she and her older Sister, Mary were put up for adoption.  Both were adopted by George and Elma Koford of Montpelier.  Their childhood years were spent with great happiness under the loving care of their newly adopted parents. Hunting, fishing, ice skating, sleigh riding, bicycle riding were a normal part of this family's active curriculum.  Maxine married William Russell Erving in Montpelier October 10, 1947.  They resided there with their two children, Lynda and Jim until Russell's untimely death in December 11, 1968  After his death Maxine moved to Kemmerer, Wyoming.  She then met and married Edmund Paterno.  Graveside services were heldThursday, February 19 at the Diamondville Cemetery.  Interment was in the Diamondville City Cemetery.  The Crandall Funeral Home of Kemmerer was in charge of the arrangements.
