Ruby Bischoff (Rowland) - Class of 1940

Ruby Gladys Bischoff Rowland 94, passed away in her home on July 31, 2017 under the loving care of her daughter, Chris.

She was born on September 15, 1922 to Alfred and Eliza Teuscher Bischoff.

She loved growing up in Geneva, Idaho and often talked of her lovely home in the beautiful Geneva valley.

She also spoke of the one-room school house and the fun they had there.

She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1940.

She was crowned Bear Lake County Fair Queen and often shared with us what a proud moment that was.

She married the love of her life Robert Richard (Dick) Rowland on April 26, 1944.

The first few years of marriage were spent traveling with the Army Air Corp were Dick was a B-17 & B-29 pilot. When Dick got out of the military, they made their home in Montpelier, Idaho and both worked in the Rowland family laundry and dry cleaning business.

Ruby worked in several church positions, primary teacher, MIA secretary and ward librarian.

Ruby shared her talents of embroidering many sets of dish towels for the Hospital Auxillary and gave a set of these incredible dish towels to each family member.

Also a seamstress making clothing for her and her daughters.

Ruby is survived by her two daughters Ann (Bob) Lutz and Christie Rowland, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at 1:00pm in the Montpelier LDS 5th ward chapel. Friends may call prior to the services from 11:00am thru 12:45pm.

Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
