Ruth LaRae Nate, the daughter of Leslie and Odella Nate, was born September 28, 1936 at Dingle, Idaho. After graduating from Montplelier High School she went on to receive her Bachelor of Education degree from Utah State University. She married her high school sweetheart in 1959 and began what was to become 26 years of adventure and excitement as a Navy pilot's wife as well as best friend. After 14 moves back and forth across the US the move to Mesa in 1979 was her last. She became an office manager and agent for State Farm Insurance where she worked until her retirement in 1998. LaRae was an active member of the Dobson Ranch HOA Retiree group as well as an enthusiastic supporter of the Superstitious Mountain Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America. She passed away on January 15, 2005 and was survived by her devoted and loving husband of 45 years, Commander Larry Rasmussen, USN (Retired); her children, Jeff (Deborah) Rasmussen, Christine Rasmussen and Wendy (George) Rocco; and three grandchildren, David, Halie and George, Jr.
