Elmer Krogue - Class of 1932

Elmer A. Krogue peacefully passed away at age 96 at his home in Blackfoot, Idaho on May 1, 2009.  He was born in Montpelier the son of Angus and Bertha Krogue on March 29, 1913.  He spent his youth helping on the farm, working part time, and playing trumpet in the school band.  He was student body president his senior year.  He loved football but a bout with spinal meningitis ended his football career.  He was good in math and science and loved education.  He attended Weber College and graduated with a degree in engineering.  He went to work as a delivery person for Crockett's grocery store which began a long career in the grocery business.  He met the love of his life, Frankie Bischoff, a beautiful redhead while serving in the Sunday School in church and they were married March 1, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He built a cabin in the woods for his family which became a special gathering place for his children.  He was active in the LDS Church and the community.  He was one of the first charter members of the Lions Club.  He served for a time in the planning and zoning commission in Blackfoot.  He is survived by four sons and 10 grandchildren.
