Leon Stevens - Class of 1937

Leon K. Stevens, died January 19, 1990 in an automobile accident.

He was born February 20, 1919 in Montpelier, Idaho, to Alvin and Martha Madsen Stevens. He graduated from Montpelier High School and later attended the University of Utah. He married Mary M. Coles in 1945, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He filled LDS mission assignments int he Danish and Southern States Missions, then enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving throughout World War II, holding the rank of Warrant Officer at the end of the war. He became an accountant, working the office of the State Auditor, and for the firm of Wells, Baxter and Miller. He became a CPA and continued with Deloitt, Haskins and Sells, when the two firms merged. He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Margaret Jane and her husband, David Utermoehlen, son, Russell E. Stevens and wife, Linda, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, 12 noon, Tuesday, January 23, Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
