Parley Ennis Hayes - Class of 1956

GEORGETOWN - Parley Ennis Hayes, 72, the oldest of five boys, was born on June 20, 1938, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Leslie and Maxine Hayes. On January 8, 2011, he peacefully died at Bear Lake Memorial. Parley attended grade school in Georgetown, Idaho, and graduated in 1956, from Montpelier High School. During high school, he worked at the Allen ranch on the Blackfoot River. After high school, he went to work for the railroad. Later, Parley joined the Air Force, became a master sergeant and made a successful career in the military.

Parley came home on leave in 1958, and met the love of his life, Gail Thompson. They were married on October 17, 1959. After they were married, they started their life together in Yaak, Montana.

During his 20 years in the military they were stationed throughout the United States and Newfoundland. After the military, he worked at Bailey Creek as a maintenance man for a year. He worked for Monsanto for 14 years, then retired.

Parley is survived by his wife, Gail Hayes; son, Allen Hayes of Pocatello; daughter, Marie Hayes of Georgetown; granddaughter, Kristen Hayes of Georgetown; grandsons, Dalton Hayes and Brett Haney of Nampa; four brothers, David Hayes of Billings, Montana, Lee Hayes of Pocatello, Brian (Karen) Hayes of Georgetown, and Milt (Carol) Hayes of Nounan, two brothers-in-law, Bill (Lawana) Hill of Montpelier, and Brent (Brenda) Thompson of Pocatello; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. 
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011, in the Georgetown LDS Chapel at 1 p.m.  Interment will be In the Georgetown Cemetery.
