Charles Buhler - Class of 1956

A cowboy rode into heaven on Saturday April 13th, 2013, roped by our Father's hand. 

Charles Kay Buhler was born in Nampa, Idaho on October 5, 1938. He was chosen by his mother Kate Kay Kunz and his father Walter Charles Buhler.

Chuck attended school in Montpelier Idaho where he graduated high school with his diploma. Growing up on the ranch he became one of the best, most dedicated ranch hands in Idaho. He was known and loved by all who met him. His many long stories were the greatest things that intrigued everyone around him.

Chuck had conquered so many great things in his life that made him who he was. He served in the U.S. navy when he was young and later discharged in 1961. He then served in the U.S. army 101st airborne as a paratrooper. He was one of the best cuttin' horse trainers and was honored with a championship buckle. On September 05, 1965 he married Margaret Dever and they were blessed with three daughters together. They later divorced after 15 years of marriage. On January 17, 1981 he married Carol Horsley in Las Vegas, Nevada and he was blessed with two more children. They later divorced after 11 years.

Chuck experienced many careers throughout his life. He started his own construction business "Buhler Construction" for many years. He then went to work for the city of St. George Utah as a lineman where he put up many of the first power lines there. He bought his first Kenworth truck and became owner/operator and set out on the highways where he traveled to many places and met many great people. He also worked at the gold strike mine out of Nevada and then security at the Peppermill in Mesquite Nevada. He retired from Western Rock Products Inc. in Cedar City Utah after years of running belly dumps for them that he enjoyed. Chuck remarried the love of his life Margaret Dever, on September 30th, 2000 in mesquite Nevada and they resided in Parowan Utah.

He is survived by; his wife Margaret Buhler of Parowan, Utah, son Richard C. Buhler (Leslie) of Vernal, Utah; daughters Tresa Buhler of Draper, Utah, Tracy Baxter of St. George, Utah, Konnie Robinson (Jim) of Parowan, Utah, Melinda Parkinson (Cole) of Cedar City, Utah; brother Michael w. Buhler (Wendy) of St. George, Utah; step-daughter Michelle Magnum (Dan) of Kanab, Utah, Kim Anderson (Clyde) of Ivins, Utah, Courtney Duke (Darren) of Las Vegas, Nevada; step-sons Matthew Black (Allyson) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Black of Las Vegas, Nevada. many grandchildren & great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Kate Buhler and step-daughter Dixie Mangum.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George 7th Ward LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the St. George Cemetery under the care and direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
