Cleora Ann Hayes (Ipsen) - Class of 1954

MONTPELIER - Cleora Ann Hayes Ipsen Carpenter, 65, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in Pocatello, Idaho.

She was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Georgetown, Bear Lake, Idaho, the third child of Lyle and Mildred Egli Hayes. She attended school in Georgetown and Montpelier. She married Gordon Lloyd Ipsen March 23, 1954, in Montpelier, and after seven years they had one daughter, Krista.

Ann spent most of her life in the Bear Lake Valley, where she loved the outdoors and sunshine. She enjoyed working in her yard, knitting, embroidery, making crafts, fishing, hunting, camping and family get-togethers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild. After Gordon's death, Ann worked at Coast-to-Coast and Taylor's Sporting Goods.

Ann is survived by one daughter, Krista (Steve) Higgins of Montpelier, four grandchildren, Nicholas (Christine) Higgins, Sari, Dayna and Tessa, and one great-grandson, Colby, her pride and joy, all of Montpelier.

Surviving also are five brothers, Darwin (Loris) of Springville, Utah; Weston (Barbara) of Tucson, Ariz.; Allen (Gail) of West Valley City, Utah; Larry (Barbara) of Montpelier; Roger (DeLone) of Magna, Utah; and one sister, Renee (Frank) Wallentine of Roy, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier, Idaho.
