I am saddened to hear about the passing of a dear friend and former teacher of mine. She was my English teacher at Montpelier Jr high and a co-worker when I returned 12 years later to teach with her. She always a perfect lady and I admired her greatly. Sincere sympathy, Winnie Mae Wright Freeman
Mrs- Whitman was one of my grade school teachers. I think it was Fifth Grade at AJ Winters. I remember her kindness to me on a class outing to the Mahlock Green House. I forgot my lunch and she provided me with a sandwich. Her Missouri accent was endearing. Funny how such a small act of kindness could be so important to me all these years!
