Helen Williams (Besselievre) - Class of 1949

Compiled by Phillip H. Besselievre, Jr.

After graduating in 1949 as valedictorian of her class at Montpelier High School, Helen enrolled at the University of Utah where she studied at the School of Business.  After graduating in 1953 with high honors, she worked for a year as a secretary to the General Agent of the Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in Salt Lake City.

She and Phillip H. Besselievre, Jr. were married at her home in Montpelier on 19 Jun 1954 and they left that day for Fort Worth, Texas where Phil started work as an engineer at Convair.  After working for two years at the Edna Gladney Home ( an adoption agency), she “retired” to become a mother.  Three sons arrived, Scott David, Mark Edward and Craig William.

She was involved in school and church activities, family history work and taught genealogy classes among many other activities.  She was in the middle of her second year as a home study seminary teacher, when she died, after a very brief illness, on 19 Jan 1973 at the age of 42 years.
