Helen Rich - Class of 1922

PARIS - Helen E. Rich, 95, passed away in Pasadena, California, on Dec. 10, 1999.

She was the daughter of Edward C. and Deborah Dalrymple Rich, lifetime residents of Bear Lake County. She was born on July 27, 1904 in Montpelier, Bear Lake County, Idaho. She attended Washington Elementary School, Montpelier High School, and graduated from the University of Utah in 1926. She served a short-term mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1927.

Her teaching career spanned many years in Montpelier and Pocatello, Ogden, Utah, Washington, D.C., and San Marino, California. She also worked for the federal Department of Agriculture in Washington. Since her retirement in 1971 she had lived in Pasadena, California.

She is survived by twin brothers Edward H. (Beth) Rich of Provo, Utah, and Emerson R. Rich of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by an only sister, Edna R. Nelson in September 1994, and by one brother, Joseph C. Rich in May 1999.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at noon in the Paris, Idaho Cemetery, with the service under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
