Lucille Kinnersley (Dean) - Class of 1922

Lucille K. Dean, 96, of Boise, Idaho died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Plantation Place, assisted living residence.

A Prayer service will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2000 at 7 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the First Congregational Church in Pocatello, Idaho. Reverend Nancy Nagy will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello.

Lucille was born on April 8, 1903, at Montpelier, Idaho, the daughter of Alice Mary Kelly and James Edward Kinnersley. She graduated from Montpelier High School and then graduated from business school in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked as a secretary for PFE in Pocatello. She married George Melvin Dean in Pocatello on April 14, 1927. They raised two daughters. Lucille supported her husband's career, which included Block's Mens Store and ownership of Golden Bear Sportswear in San Francisco, CA. She traveled extensively with her husband prior to his death in 1983.

She was a member of American Legion Auxillary and an offer of the Ruth Chapter, O.E.S. and the music club, all in Pocatello; member of the Idaho Club of California (former Pocatellians); and a member of the San Francisco Congregational Church.

Her hobbies included baking cinnamon rolls and pies, caring for her grandchildren, bridge, pinochle and the opera in San Francisco.

Lucille is survived by two daughters, Margie Bogert and Annette Finch; six grandchildren, Doug Finch (Robin), Greg Finch, Rocky Bogert (Mary), Therese Brown (Terry), Michael Bogert (Carolyn) and Heidi Dornier (Clyde); seven great-granchildren and one brother, Glay Edward Kinnersley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Melvin Dean; sister, Marge Chantry; brother, Kelly Kinnersley; and one great-grandson, Jonathan Cook.
