Roy Rasmussen - Class of 1926

Roy Rasmussen, 100, of Boise passed away at a local area hospital Saturday, Jan, 6, 2007. Born Dec. 18, 1906 to Joseph and Anna Christine Rasmussen. Roy graduated from Montpelier High School in 1926. After which he attended electrical school in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the United States Army during World War II going to both Italy and North Africa. He worked for Morrison-Knudsen for 40 years in various places throughout the world including Hoover Dam, Brownlee Dam, Oxbow Dam and Shimen Dam in Taiwan. Roy married Marian Kolb in Boulder City, Nev. on July 15, 1941. 

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne Rasmussen and stepson, Richard Chapman of Boise as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marian in March of 2001; stepson, Harry Chapman; his parents; three sisters, Emma, Bardella and Ivy; four brothers, Ferreld, Joseph, Leslie and Melvin. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Amity Stake Center located at 12040 West Amity Road, Meridian, Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2007. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
