Glenna Anderson (Bartschi) - Class of 1930

MONTPELIER - Glenna Louisa Anderson Bartschi, 87, died Saturday, December 11. 1999, at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier of congestive heart failure.

She was born September 21, 1912, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Oliver Calvin and Isabell Ellsworth Anderson. The family lived a short time in Buhl and then moved to Montpelier. There she met andmarried Earl Lloyd Bartschi on March 12, 1932. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. During their lifetime together they lived in Conda, Georgetown and Montpelier. Glenna was an active member of the LDS Church and served in a variety of positions, including Young Women's president and Relief Society president. In Montpelier she worked as a sales clerk at Allinger's, Penney's, Kings and Modern Drug. She was a devoted wife and mother and a good friend to many. Writing letters to family was something she did faithfully all her life.

Glenna is survived by her husband Earl of Montpelier, two sons, Don (NaDean)Bartschi of Missoula, Montana; Terrell (Janice) Bartschi of Idaho Falls; two daughters, Nancy (Larry) Parker of St. George, Utah; Jeannie Brokens of Montpelier; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rella Walkingshad and Beth Bohn, both of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Jacobsen and Alice Bee; and a brother, Bud Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Montpelier Fifth Ward chapel at 340 North Sixth St. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
