Goldie Blaser (Maughan) - Class of 1930

OGDEN -- Mae Goldie Blaser Maughan passed away peacefully on May 11, 2001 at the Crestwood Care Center after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born to Alfred and Emma Trussel Blaser in Montpelier, Idaho April 8, 1912. On May 10, 1935 she married her eternal sweetheart, Roy Howard Maughan in the Logan, Utah Temple.

She has six surviving children; Raeona (Gary) Stokes, North Ogden, Arlene (Curtis) May, Vernal, Glenn (Susan) Maughan, Farmington, Marveda (Jeffrey) East, Plain City, Alan (Sharalyn) Maughan, Kaysville, and Rex (Shauna) Maughan, Murray. She has 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Her brothers Albert and Glenn Blaser of Boise, Idaho and Harold Blaser of Carmichael, California survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Emma Blaser, her husband Roy H. Maughan, her son Gary Paul, her grandson Christopher, her great granddaughter Hailey Stokes and her brothers Ed and LeRoy Blaser.

She was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served many callings, including, Relief Society Presidencies, Primary President, Visiting Teacher, Temple worker and had many teaching assignments. She and her husband served in the Ogden Spanish American Branch. They also served five full time missions to: Guatemala/El Salvador, Mesa, Arizona, Los Angeles, California, Madrid, Spain and the Ogden Temple Visitor's Center. She loved missionary work and loved to mother the missionaries. She had a devout testimony of Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful mother and an example to all.

She attended Utah State Agricultural College and worked at the Idaho State Capitol, JC Penney's and the Internal Revenue Service, (she never did like it, though).

The family would like to thank the staff and workers at Crestwood Care Center for the love and devoted care given to their mother.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Interment, Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah.
