Elizabeth Lindsay (Williams) - Class of 1931

Elizabeth Lindsay Williams, 85, passed away Monday, March 29, 1999 in Provo, Utah.

She was born September 9, 1913 in Bennington ID to Hyrum Lester and Vara Mouritsen Lindsay. She attended schools in Bennington and Montpelier, ID and attended the University of Utah briefly. She enjoyed basketball and swimming in her pouth. On October 18, 1934 she married Hugh Callahan williams in Logan, UT and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple; they made their home in Rock Springs, WY. He died in 1954, and in 1970 she moved to the Provo, UT area. One son David Warren, and two stepsons, Hugh Ernest and Robert Charles also preceded her in death.

She is survived by seven children, Richard Larry (Jean), president of the Guatemala City Central Mission; Sherie (Robert C.) Baldridge of San Luis Obispo, CA; Edward Glen (Carol) of Lander, WY; Elizabeth Marie (Hank) Rinquest of West Valley City, UT; Norma Kay (Dennis) McNiven of Huntley, MT; Donna Carol (Michael) O'Leary of Orting, WA; Suzan Tamari (Jimmy) Kunz of Berne, ID. She is also survived by the following: three stepchildren, Alice McLennan and Evan George (Jane) Williams of Rock Springs, WY; Edith Louise (Gerald) Stout of Farson, WY; three sisters and one brother, May (Ferris N.) Call of Orem, UT; Adelia Olson of Roy, UT; Immogene (LaVell) Rich of Nampa, ID; and Darrell Raymond (Gwen) Lindsay of Soda Springs, ID, 53 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.

She worked as a secretary to the Wyoming State Mine Inspection for fourteen eyars, and in the Provo Utah Temple for more than ten years. Her family and her church were the most important things in her life. She loved learning and music, and strongly supported her children in those areas. Gardening, reading, natural healing, and working with her hands were her favorite pastimes.

Funeral services will be held thursday, April 1, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Bonneville 6th Ward Chapel, 200 South 100 East in Provo, UT. A Graveside service will be held at the Bennington, ID cemetery at 5 p.m. following the funeral services.
