Lorena Parker (Kunz Gold) - Class of 1931

ST. GEORGE - Lorena Parker Kunz Gold, 96, passed away at the Kolob Care Center in St. George, Utah, on March 21, 2010. Lorena was born in Bennington, Idaho, the third child of four, to David J. and Ellen (Ella) Perkins Parker. She married Willard R. Kunz in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Lorena was raised in Montpelier, Idaho, and graduated from Montpelier High School. She was an LPN and worked at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital for 30 years.

Shortly after the death of her husband in 1982, she moved to St. George, Utah. She married Cyrus H. Gold of Bountiful, Utah, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Lorena was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was well known for her many beautiful hand-made quilts, and she enjoyed giving them to others.

She is survived by her sister, Janette Olsen, as well as nieces and nephews who will remember her with many loving memories.

Lorena was preceded in death by both husbands and a baby daughter (Lorena Kunz, who died at birth), a sister, Lucille Jensen, and a brother, Ralph Parker.

Interment will be in the Montpelier, Idaho Cemetery on Friday, March 26, 2010. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
