Kathryn Knutti (Rohner) - Class of 1936

Kathryn Knutti Rohner passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love and care of her family January 4, 2008 at the age of 89.She was born October 19, 1918 in Montpelier, Idaho the daughter of John and Rose (Grosjean) Knutti. Her early years were spent in the Bear Lake Valley area. While working in Montpelier, Kathryn met and married Herman Otto Rohner June 19, 1937. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 26, 1950. After living in Star Valley, Wyoming and Pocatello, Idaho the couple moved to SLC. Kay was a life long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the LeGrand Ward as Primary, Young Women and Relief Society President; a visiting teacher, a Special Interest leader and a family history extraction worker, she called her service "a labor of love". Mom was a very special mother and grandma, well known for her chocolate cake made from scratch. She enjoyed singing, poetry, hard work and her family and friends. She was an example of selfless caring that is a testament to her life. Kathryn is loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. "Well done thy valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father". She is survived by her daughter Conda Rae Rohner, and three sons Larry Kent Rohner, Ronald H. Rohner and Douglas John Rohner, all of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also survived by one brother Edward Knutti of Vernal, Utah and one sister Alice (Knutti) Morris of Pocatello, Idaho. Three grandchildren, Veronica Linn Williams, Hawaii, Shawn Kelly Duffy, Salt Lake City, Utah, Nathan Douglas Rohner, Salt Lake City, Utah. Four great grandchildren, William H. Williams, California, Amy Rose Williams, Hawaii, Camille Nicole McQuiston, Salt Lake City, Utah, Lucas Eddie Duffey, Salt Lake City, Utah. Three great, great grandchildren, Dominic Williams, Hawaii, Hope Woods, Salt Lake City, Utah, Braden Woods, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman Otto Rohner, (June 8, 1987) her parents, two sisters and two brothers. The family would like to thank the IHC Hospice for their loving home care of our mother. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
