Hazel Humburg (Closner) - Class of 1938

Hazel Jacqueline Humburg Closner, 85, of Boise passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 in Nampa. Hazel was born on March 21, 1920 in Montpelier, Idaho to Albert Edward Humburg and Janette Quayle Humburg. She attended schools in Dingle and Montpelier. Upon graduation from high school she attended the LDS Business College and used the experience she learned there working several years for various businesses. She had a love of reading and travel. She enjoyed being a mother and wife and was devoted to her family. She taught them the skills of running a home, self-reliance, and service to others. 

Hazel married Forrest Henry Closner on Nov. 14, 1941 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Hazel and Forrest served together in the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple for many years. She held many leadership and teaching positions within her church and loved being of service to others. 

Her husband Forrest, parents, and a granddaughter preceded her in death. Hazel is survived by four children, Bret (Linda) Closner, Christy Ann (David) Ward, Jacque Jo (Reed) Robertson, and Lillian (Joe) Briner; sister Maythel Sparks; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Northview LDS Chapel, 6711 Northview Street, Boise. Interment will take place at the Montpelier Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005. Services are under direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel.
