Her childhood and youth were filled with fond memories of family and friends and outings at Bear Lake with her sisters and mother. She graduated from Montpelier High School after which she moved to Salt Lake City and married Peter Vitalano on September 11, 1943. He was killed in action during World War II. They had a son, Peter V. Palmer who passed away at age 16. Muriel married John W. Palmer of Grantsville, UT on July 26, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children and Muriel's son Peter was sealed to them in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
