Maxine Poulsen (Williamson) - Class of 1939

POCATELLO — Maxine Williamson passed away in Pocatello, Idaho, at the Portneuf Regional Medical Center,March 17, 2010, just one month after celebrating her 88th birthday. She was born February 17, 1922, in Liberty, Idaho, to Kenneth and Edith Passey Poulsen. She attended schools in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School. She married her eternal companion, Rexford Nephi Williamson, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 2, 1941. Rex passed away March 5, 1981.
 
She was actively involved in school, sports, 4-H, community, family and church activities throughout her life. She owned and operated a children’s clothing store in Montpelier for ten years, called “Playmates,” and continued in the retail clothing business in Pocatello and Salt Lake until she retired and returned to Montpelier where she spent her remaining years. Her summers were spent at her home on Bear Lake, a gathering place where she enjoyed her family and her flowers. She was an active member of the LDS Church most recently in the St. Charles Ward, in St. Charles, Idaho.
 
Maxine and Rex have six children, twenty-nine grandchildren, and fifty-six great grandchildren. She is survived by her six children; Lyn Ann (Guy) Arnell of Burley, Glen (Annell) of Georgetown, Craig (Lynda) of Gilbert, Ariz., Lorna Kimball of Salt Lake City, Bruce (Connie) of Dingle, and Rick of Pocatello and Susan Williamson of Pocatello, Idaho; her sister Nondas (Elmer) Ricks, her brothers Don (Beth) Poulsen and Jack Poulsen. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex, her parents Kenneth and Edith Poulsen, brothers Blair and Russell Poulsen, grandson Trevor Williamson and son-in-law David Kimball.
 
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, Rupert, Idaho. Services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010, at the St. Charles Ward Meeting House, St. Charles, Idaho, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, Montpelier, Idaho.
