Arlene Nelson (Sears) - Class of 1954

OGDEN – Etta Arlene Nelson Sears, 72, died March 7, 2009 in Ogden, Utah. She was born July 19, 1936 in Montpelier, Idaho the daughter of Vernon Woodruff and Etta Mae Keetch Nelson. She lived in Idaho, Montana, SLC and Ogden for the last 37 years. She graduated from Montpelier High. Arlene married Blayne Rollins Sears on October 6, 1972 in Ogden, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on October 7, 1972.

Arlene was a member of the LDS Church and was active in all organizations, but especially loved Relief Society. She was Captain of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Arlene retired from Zions Bank as a Bank Officer. She enjoyed ceramics, tole painting, reading and collecting. Arlene was a very generous and loving person.

She is survived by her children, Daryl Sears (Terry), Parley Sears, Susan Brown (Kevin) and Judy Sears; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-granchildren; siblings Dorene Nielsen, Earl Nelson (Mary), Harold Nelson, Lois Woodward (Duane), Reed Nelson and Carol Smith (Frank).

She is preceded in death by her husband Blayne; parents; brothers R. LaGrande Nelson and Forrest C. Nelsen; 2 step-sons Randy and Kerry Sears and 2 step-grandchildren Alyson Brown and Jayson Sears.

The family would like to than Aspen Care Center and all of the wonderful doctors and caregivers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 12 Noon at the Mound Fort 2nd Ward, 952 Childs Avenue, Ogden.
