Marcia Esterholt (Singleton) - Class of 1964

Marcia Esterholt (Singleton)

Marcia Alayne Esterholdt Singleton, 61, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at her home from a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 20, 1946, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Grant and Margaret Esterholdt, and grew up in Pegram, Idaho. Marcia had three brothers and one sister. When Marcia graduated from high school, she moved to Pocatello, Idaho to attend secretarial school at Idaho State University, and it was there she met Mac Singleton. They were married on May 6, 1966, in Montpelier, Idaho. They had three children, Randy, Ron and Tracie. Marcia stayed at home with the kids until Tracie was in second grade, at which point she then went to work. Marcia worked for several businesses in Montpelier and was last employed by the Bear Lake County Prosecutor's Office as a legal secretary.

Marcia's pride and joy were her seven grandchildren, Derrek, Shayna, Shawni, Courtney, Hailey, Kylie and Kassidy. She loved spending time with them. Marcia also loved spending time with her close group of friends. They did a lot of fun things together. They were always there for her. In 2005, Marcia traveled to Europe with her friends and in 2006, went on a cruise to the Bahamas with her daughter, Tracie and her husband. Marcia was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Marcia is survived by her three children, Randy (Michelle) Singleton of Montpelier, Idaho, Ron Singleton of Montpelier, Idaho, and Tracie (Daren) Dubbe of Pocatello, Idaho; one brother, Bob Esterholdt of Buhl, Idaho; and one sister, Connie (Larry) Clever of Grand Junction, Colorado; Mac Singleton, close friend and former husband; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Margaret, and two brothers, Larry and Dennis. Funeral services were held Monday, June 23, 2008 in the Montpelier Fourth Ward LDS Church. Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Portneuf Cancer Center for the great care and compassion they gave to Marcia.
