Guy Peterson - Class of 1964

Guy Fergus Peterson, 46, died June 28, 1993 in Montpelier of an extended illness.  He was born September 26, 1946 in Montpelier to Everett H. and J. Maxine Brown Peterson.  He married Alva Lee Nate September 1, 1965 in Montpelier.   The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple July 25, 1969.  Guy was educated in Montpelier and graduated from BYU with degrees in sociology and criminology in 1972.  He served in Germany with the US Army for three years.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various positions.  He was currently serving in the bishopric of the Montpelier Fourth Ward at the time of his illness.  He participated in basketball and baseball as well as coached little league, high school and church sports.  He taught alternate school  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.  He is survived by his wife Lee.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier Fourth Ward.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.

From Lee: "Guy and Lee raised a family. We have two girls and three boys: Wendi, Landis, Jordon, Dustin, and Brittney. Guy worked various jobs in the valley and participated in the city baseball and basketball programs. He coached Little League baseball and basketball and taught Alternate School at the Middle School. He loved working with the youth. He enjoyed living here and being able to hunt, fish, and camp in the mountains and taught his children to appreciate the beautiful area we live in. Two years after Guy's death our youngest daughter also died at age 15. We have 13 grandchildren."
