Barbara Bartschi Tunks, daughter of Lillie Nelson Bartschi and Wilford Woodruff Bartschi, was born in Montpelier on May 7, 1932. She passed away on May 18, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She married Philip S. Tunks, son of Sam V. and Inez Benson Tunks of Montpelier. Barbara and Phil became the parents of three children, Barbara, Michael, Larry, and Kristan.

Phil preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Bartschi Uharriet and Lois Bartschi Passey. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeanette Tunks and three grandchildren, Jilian Murdock, Samantha Valenza and Philip Edward Tunks, as well as her dearly-loved extended family and many dear friends.

Services were held May 25, 2013 at Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier. Interment was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
