Phyllis Jean Bartlome (Smith Eborn) - Class of 1942

Phyllis Jean Bartlome Smith Eborn of Paris, Idaho, returned to her heavenly father on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. She was born in Montpelier, Idaho, March 10, 1924, the daughter of Fred Bartlome and Lena Maire Sutter. She was the oldest of eight children. She attended elementary school and high school in Montpelier.

After graduation she moved to Ogden, Utah and was trained as a dental assistant. Returning to Montpelier, she worked at Dr. Wells C. Stock's dental office and assisted another doctor in surgeries.

Phyllis was at the dental office when she met Lloyd Smith. They were married Jan. 9, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple and began their lives together on the Three-Mile Ranch just out of Georgetown, Idaho. Working together they created a successful ranch and successfully raised five children: Connie, Craig, Lynne Ann and Drue.

Phyllis was active in the LDS church, serving in different positions in the Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School and as a visiting teacher through the years. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and other crafts. She enjoyed traveling the world with Lloyd in their later years. She especially enjoyed her family and kept track of all the grandchildren's interests. She kept two filled cookie and candy jars next to the back door and the grandchildren could nibble as they reported their activities to her.
Lloyd passed away on February 26, 1995.

Phyllis married Weldon Eborn on July 18, 1998 and moved to Paris, Idaho. She doubled the size of her family and had the opportunity to spread her love to more family members. They enjoyed the company of each other during these later years.

She is survived by her husband Weldon Eborn, daughter Connie (Joe) DeClark of Georgetown, son Craig (Barbara) Smith of Hurricane, Utah, daughter Lynne Ann (Weston) Parker of Liberty, Idaho, son Drue (Kathy) Smith of Georgetown, Idaho, stepson Leon Eborn of Paris, Idaho; step-daughter Lois (Lance) Brown of Sandy Utah, a step-daughter-in-law Carol Eborn of Paris, Idaho; four brothers Roy Bartlome of Glendale, California, George (Elizabeth) Bartlome of Surprise, Arizona, James (Geraldine) Bartlome of Riverton, Utah, Gordon (Carol) Bartlome of West Jordan, Utah, two sisters Helen (Doyle) Portela of Montpelier, Idaho, Linda (Roger) Aland of Clearfield, Utah and an aunt Ruby Etcheverry of Montpelier, Idaho.
