Max Berger - Class of 1954

Max Edward Berger 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home July 21, 2014. He was born March 19, 1935 to Edward and Twilla Berger, the eldest of two children. Max married his high school sweetheart on Nov. 26, 1954 making their first home in Montpelier, Idaho. They were blessed with two daughters, Maxine and Kathleen. In the early years of marriage, Max had his own roofing business and worked at Central Farmers. In 1969 they moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming where Max worked for Wexpro. In 1977 Max and Helen transitioned to life in Wexpro remote Company Camps until he retired in 1992. Max and Helen then moved to Montpelier to enjoy their retirement years.

Max was a life member of BPOE #624 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, as well as a member of the Lions Club in Montpelier. He helped with building the current senior citizens center in Montpelier. Max also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and Dutch oven cooking, but nothing compared to spending time with his grandchildren.

Max is survived by two daughters, Maxine (Ron) Skroh of Pocatello, Idaho and Kathleen (Mike) Tipton of Rock Springs, Wyoming, one sister Janice Berger Smith of Montpelier, Idaho, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by his wife Helen Roskelley Berger and his parents Edward and Twilla Berger.

Graveside services will be held in the Montpelier Cemetery July 24, 2014 at 1:00 P.M.
