Allen Bagley (1960)

Belva Nield Bagley passed away on August 5, 2013 after a short battle with cancer.  She was born in Montpelier, Idaho on March 19, 1942.  She was the seventh of ten children born to William Edward Nield and Viola Laughter Nield.  She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1960.  After graduation she worked as a grocery checker for the IGA store.  She married Allen Bagley on December 1, 1961 in the Logan Temple.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Salt Lake City where she worked as a grocery checker for Safeway while she helped put Allen through school.  She quit working the day he graduated and dedicated her life to raising her six children.  She became an expert quilt maker.  She made quilts for everyone in the family, their spouses, children and grandchildren.  She loved to make quilts for her friends.  Belva was active in the church holding many callings including Primary President, Young Women President, Counselor in Relief Society Presidency and Counselor in Stake Young Women Presidency.  Her favorite calling, however, was as the ward greeter.  She visited all new members of the ward to welcome them to the ward and give them a "welcome packet".  She then made sure she greeted them at church to make them feel welcome.  She always went to church early so she could greet as many people as possible.  Although she suffered with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy most of her life, she never complained or let it hold her back.  She loved people and always had a happy cheerful attitude.  She is greatly missed.
