In Memory

Clark Murdock - Class of 1958

Clark D. Murdock passed away on July 12th, 2017 due to complications from surgery and liver disease. He was born on March 1st, 1940 in Milford, UT to Joseph Grant Murdock and Sarah Ora Griffiths Murdock. He moved to Montpelier, ID in 1945 and attended school there until 1956 when his family moved to Nampa, ID. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1958. He moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1961 and became an electrical apprentice at Union Pacific Railroad. He became a master electrician 4 years later and continued to work at Union Pacific for more than 40 years. He retired from the railroad in 2001. He married Karen Leishman in the early 1960's and together they had 3 children. In 1975 he married Linda Gene Haacke Murdock and together they had 6 children. In 1994, they adopted Clark's twin granddaughters, whom he loved and treated as his own daughters.

Clark loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, go camping, and explore the mountains. He especially enjoyed Autumn when the leaves changed colors. He loved the quiet and solitude the forest provided. He had an interest in traveling and always had a road atlas nearby for mapping-out routes. He was fascinated with big rigs and after retirement he drove semi-trucks cross-country. Clark also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, work on home-renovation projects, and spend time with his family. Dad had a busy life and is now finally resting in peace. He is free from pain, illness, and all the many stresses of life. We will miss him, but we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now in the reassuring presence of his mother, whom he shared a special bond with, and know that he is in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

Clark is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Boyd (Gayle) Murdock; his sister and brother-in-law, Faye & Devere Doman; and his 1st wife. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children: Curtis (Teri) Murdock; John (Lisa) Murdock; Kara Murdock; Tracy (Daryl) Anderson, Chris (Michelle) Murdock; Ryan (Tiffney) Murdock; Julia Murdock; David Murdock; Lori Jo Murdock; Jordon Murdock; Alyx Murdock; & former daughter-in-law, Tiffany McKay Murdock. He is also survived by siblings Jenny Beth Murdock; Joseph (Marilyn) Murdock; Kent (Barbara) Murdock; 21 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
